Leah currently has over 15 years experiences working with children and young people. She has worked with primary aged children in a variety of educational settings after she gained her master’s degree of education. From 2016 to 2018, Leah has trained as a Play Therapist to master level in University of South Wales as she is always keen to improve children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. Leah is a fully qualified member of the British Association of Play Therapist (BAPT) and her practice is supervised and meets BAPT ethical standards.

Leah has considerable work experience in different settings such as an organization which supported children and family that had suffered from domestic violence; therapeutic clinics and local school settings.

Leah’s experience includes working with children that have experienced trauma, neglect or abuse, loss and bereavement as well as children who described as withdrawal/aggressive/acting out or with anger issues, and those with self-regulation difficulties, ADHD and Autism.

Leah has the ability to attune with children and young people, to understand how they are feeling and her committed to enabling, empowering, encouraging and helping them to turn around and become resilient based on their individual needs.

She also works together with parents, carers and teachers, providing therapeutic strategies to enable them to effectively support children and young people. As a DDP informed practitioner, Leah provides attachment focused family therapy and parenting support to help developmentally traumatised children.

Leah has special interests in family breakdown and childhood trauma.
